How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account in two ways:

Option 1 — In-App (Recommended)

1. Open the BhaiFinder app and sign in
2. Tap You — the last tab in the bottom navigation bar
3. Scroll to the very bottom of that screen
4. Tap Delete account (red, below "Log out")
5. Read the warning screen, then tap Delete my account
6. Confirm once more in the dialog by tapping Yes, delete everything

Deletion begins immediately — there is no grace period and no undo. You are signed out straight away.

Option 2 — Email Request

If you cannot access the app, email hello@bhaifinder.com from your registered email address with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"

Include:

• Your registered email address
• Reason for deletion (optional)

We acknowledge deletion requests within 48 hours and complete them within 7 business days.

What Happens When You Delete

Immediately

• Your account is deactivated and your login is revoked — you cannot sign back in
• Your password, Google sign-in link, and Apple sign-in link are erased
• All push notification tokens for your devices are removed
• Your plan is reset to free and marked cancelled

Within moments (background cleanup)

Immediately after your account is deactivated, a background job permanently and irreversibly erases:

• All saved items (links, photos, texts, visiting cards, PDFs)
• All AI-generated context, tags, and categorisations attached to those items
• All categories, custom and default
• All reminders and nudges
• All in-app notifications
• All support tickets you raised in the app, including their message history
• Your subscription records held in our own database
• Your stored Razorpay customer and subscription identifiers

If you had an active paid subscription, it is cancelled with Razorpay as part of this cleanup, so you are not billed again. This process is not reversible once started.

Data We Retain After Deletion

Some data must be retained for legal and financial compliance:

Anonymised analytics	Indefinitely	Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics only
Legal/compliance records	As required by law	If subject to a court order or legal process

Retained financial records contain only transactional metadata (amount, date, plan, subscription ID). They do not contain your saved content, reminders, or personal memories.

If you want your support tickets erased as well, say so in your deletion email and we will remove them manually.

Data Stored by Third Parties

Some data may be held by our service providers. Deleting your BhaiFinder account does not automatically delete data held by:

Google Firebase	FCM push tokens; and, if analytics collection is enabled, anonymised app-usage events tied to an app-instance identifier (never your name or email)	FCM tokens are deleted from our system on account deletion. Analytics data is not linked to your account; it is reset when you uninstall the app or clear its data, and Firebase expires it automatically
OpenAI	Saved content sent for categorisation; a photo only when on-device OCR finds no text	Sent for a single request and not stored by us; nothing to delete on our side
Your device	The original photos and PDFs you attached	These are never uploaded to our servers — they stay on your phone and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data
MongoDB Atlas	All user data	Deleted as part of account deletion; encrypted backups roll off within 30 days

Partial Data Deletion (Without Account Deletion)

You do not have to delete your account to remove your content. You can delete individual items at any time:

• Delete a single save: Open the item → Tap the trash icon → Confirm
• Delete a reminder: Nudges tab → Swipe to delete or tap the delete icon
• Delete a custom category: You tab → Edit Categories → Delete
• Delete a notification: Notifications → Swipe to dismiss
• Revoke a shared category: Open the share → Stop sharing

These actions are immediate and permanent. There is no separate option to bulk-erase one whole data category (for example, "all my reminders") while keeping the account — for a complete wipe, use account deletion above.
